SR-17020 are fully synthetic small molecules that are being investigated for their ability to reverse opioid tolerance via uniquely stabilizing the MOR in an active state. By Stimulating atypical MOR Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation they are able to provide pain relief without the dangerous side effects associated with traditional opioids (e.g., tolerance, respiratory depression).
